In Yin, we use props (blocks & bolsters) to support our bodies ā€“ allowing gravity to find the pose for us. Holding these poses between 2-7 minutes makes Yin Yoga a meditative and contemplative practice, where the challenge lies in our ability to stay still for longer than normal while being more connected to whatā€™s happening in our racing minds. This practice works our bodies in a ā€œYinā€ way by targeting our deeper tissues, such as our fascia, joints & bones.

When we choose to slow down, to be still to notice sensations of the body & the breath we help the mind to settle and create clarity, allowing us to be more connected with ourselves.

Yin Yoga offers wonderful emotional and mental health benefits. Through it we can become more aware, more present and more compassionate for ourselves and others.
